As a lifelong resident of Roanoke, I am an avid fan of the Valley and everything it has to offer. Not counting two years spent in Colorodo and many shorter trips to other parts of the world, I have made Roanoke my home since 1969.
I attended Roanoke City schools until high school, which I spent at Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg. In 1992, I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. Soon after graduating from college, I fulfilled a personal goal of hiking the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. It took over eight months to complete, but it was an incredible experience. In 1994 and 1999, I traveled to Ghana with St. John's Episcopal Church as part of a tree-planting effort for an agricultural program. I have also been fortunate enough to travel to Central America and throughout Europe.
Before joining MKB, Realtors® as a licensed real estate agent, I was an elementary and middle school teacher in Roanoke for many years. I became a Realtor® in the summer of 2004 because of my love for the Valley and my desire to help others with their home searches and sales here in Roanoke. My knowledge of the area and my enthusiasm for what makes Roanoke great — the surrounding geography, the neighborhoods, restaurants, the downtown market, the Greenway system, our fostering of the arts, the proximity to the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway — have helped me effectively market the Valley for sellers and help buyers find their dream homes.
In my spare time, I can be found playing or coaching soccer, hiking, gardening, helping out at St. John's, reading, or hanging out with family. I currently reside with my wife and son in Raleigh Court. |
